For over 87 years, The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel has been a classic landmark of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. It has been revered as a destination for the discerning traveller, as well as a favourite haunt for the most prominent residents of New York City. Writer/Director Matthew Miele (Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf’s / Crazy About Tiffany’s documentary) signed on to tell the story of The Carlyle through a 90-minute documentary. In production for the past three years, Last Night at The Carlyle will offer an exclusive peek into the renowned hotel and is set to be released in the northern spring of 2017.The documentary will explore the history of this Manhattan mainstay since its completion in 1930 and will feature many loyal guests, celebrities and residents to find out how they define its intangible draw. Additionally, the film will highlight tales from the tenured staff, who will share their affinity for the hotel and what is truly behind its legendary service and reputation.Well-known names featured in the film include Woody Allen, George Clooney, Elaine Stritch, Anjelica Huston, Vera Wang, Anthony Bourdain, Roger Federer, Wes Anderson, Sofia Coppola, Lenny Kravitz and Naomi Campbell, to name a few. Over 100 personalities and regulars have been interviewed to discover their best stories and unique insight to this legendary address. Additionally, hotel associates who are famous in their own right – from Hector Ruiz, the discreet hotel ambassador to Tommy Rowles, the well-known Bemelmans bartender for over 50 years – have also shared their experiences about the beloved property.
