And the Winner Is…Budweiser Select?Budweiser Select won the gold for American style Lager at the most recent Great American Beer Festival. Miller High Life won the silver. Pabst Brewing Company won the bronze with their Special Export. I don’t even know what the hell their Special Export is (but I want to try it!).I’ve got nothing against Budweiser or Miller or Pabst. I drink all of those beers. But are they medal winners at this country’s quintessential beer competition? Are these grocery store standards still topping the charts when craft breweries are now making solid representations of lagers?Maybe. Maybe Budweiser’s got the lager dialed down so damned good, the little guy doesn’t stand a chance in that category. Or maybe gold medals don’t mean much, or maybe nobody else bothered to enter their lagers in the GABF. I don’t know. What I do know, is there are a number of great craft lagers out there for you to try, even if they don’t have gold medals swinging from their necks. Lagunitas and Bell’s both make a tasty lager (no, “tasty lager” isn’t an oxymoron). Devils Backbone, out of Virginia, makes the Gold-Leaf Lager, which actually won the silver in the American Style Pilsener category at this year’s competition.I like the lager put out by Hi-Wire Brewing, a new brewery out of Asheville. It’s unfiltered, light-hopped, light-bodied, light everything except for taste. This is a solid lager, people, straight down the style standards, and it’s become my go-to easy-drinking beer. If Budweiser Select is the gold-medal winner for Lagers, then this puppy should go platinum.Follow Graham Averill’s adventures in drinking and Dad-hood at daddy-drinks.com

Inspired by the works of Mara Šverl Gamiršek, this musical-scenic performance for which the screenplay is signed by Ana Cvenić, will present a wide range of topics – from folk beliefs, relationships in the family and towards foreigners. The grand opening is scheduled for Friday, September 14, and the event continues with the National Festival of Croatian Original Folklore, on September 15 and 16, and closes with a ceremonial parade and the biggest shock circle on Sunday, September 16. Lovers of Slavonian traditional culture and folklore, whether original or choreographed, can enjoy it from September 7 to 12 during the County Folklore Festival, and for the youngest, on September 8 and 9, Children’s Vinkovci Autumns are held.62 children’s groups and 76 folklore societies, 30 carriages, 20 riders will perform at the ParadeThe opening ceremony, the National Folklore Festival and the Parade of participants of the 53rd Vinkovci Autumns will be broadcast live by Croatian Radio and Television, and 62 children’s groups and 76 folklore societies, 30 teams, 20 riders, a total of over 4.5 thousand participants will perform at the parade.“During the Folklore Evenings this year, 50 societies from Vukovar-Srijem County will present themselves. On Saturday, we have the Inter-County Festival of Children’s Groups, where 12 children’s gatherings will perform, and the traditional Parade, which talks about how much we take care of the children’s part of Vinkovci Autumns because they are the future of the event. 62 children’s groups will perform at the Parade, which is the largest number of gathered children’s groups ever. We have the opening ceremony live, on September 14 at 20:05 p.m., with the preparation of which we expect the audience to be satisfied. On Saturday, there is the State Festival of Croatian Original Folklore, where 13 groups will present themselves. The program will also be recorded by HRT, and it will be shown with a delay in two 60-minute shows. The most beautiful part, the ceremonial parade and show of horse-drawn carriages is on Sunday, September 16, when we have 4.5 thousand participants in the streets of Vinkovci. This year there will be 76 folklore societies, 30 carriages, 20 riders, predecessors and everything that gives beauty to the event”, Said the secretary of ZAKUD Stjepan Đurković.Among other events on Vinkovci Autumn Square, it is necessary to highlight the 10th International Hip Hop Festival called “Hip-Hop on Orion”, September 8 and the traditional fashion show prepared for citizens on September 10 by the Loreen Model Association. Due to great interest, this year part of the offer will be exhibited in houses in the Pedestrian Zone, and for the second year in a row, the Wine City will open its doors to guests in Vinkovci, from 12 to 16 September.”Vinkovci Autumn – 10 days, 24 hours of fun, 20 concerts and almost 7.5 thousand participants. We expect 120.000 visitors, which actually speaks the most about our event. I hope that everyone at the event will find something for themselves in the content we have prepared. The OFF program is also rich, and we have been working on it a bit more in recent years. This year, we will invest additional efforts in arranging the city park. The wine town is limited to 5 days due to the harvest, unlike last year, but I believe that everyone will enjoy the program that takes place in three different locations. We are also thinking about a different arrangement of Slavonski sokak, so I believe that visitors will find new content because every year we try to bring something new.”, Said the director of the media house Novosti, Mirjam Jukić.See more about the program and all activities at www.vinkovackejeseni.hrIn the meantime, there is no need to worry about it. ”RELATED NEWS:VIDEO AS A POWERFUL TOOL IN PROMOTION: WATCH THE PHENOMENAL ANNOUNCED VIDEO OF THE 53rd VINKOVAC AUTUMN,See more about the program and all activities at www.vinkovackejeseni.hrIn the meantime, there is no need to worry about it. ”RELATED NEWS:VIDEO AS A POWERFUL TOOL IN PROMOTION: WATCH THE PHENOMENAL ANNOUNCED VIDEO OF THE 53rd VINKOVAC AUTUMN

National fast food chain Chick-fil-A is setting things straight, after company officials sent a promotional email last week welcoming customers to their stores on National Sandwich Day.Sounds fine, right? Well, not in this case. The problem is that the so-called “national holiday” falls on November 3, which of course is on a Sunday this year. The chain is closed on Sundays. That realization led the company to send a follow-up email with the subject line, “Well … this is awkward.”The follow-up message states, “We recently sent an email that included a message about National Sandwich Day, which naturally we were very excited about. We didn’t realize it falls on Sunday when we are closed. We apologize for the confusion and hope to see you soon (Monday-Saturday).”On a related note, competitor Popeyes used the occasion to announce that its popular chicken sandwich, which sold out weeks earlier than expected last summer, would make its return on Sunday.Popeyes officials took a jab at Chick-fil-A in a recent social media video, which says that Popeyes is “always open seven days a week.”

And perhaps there’s other agencies that have other cases that maybe didn’t have enough evidence to charge him or we have a case where we didn’t realize this was the same person.” An Orlando man was arrested in West Palm Beach on Tuesday on suspicion of sexual battery and allegedly groping a local teenager.Detectives from the Orlando Police Department worked with West Palm Beach police to track down and take 36-year-old James Calixte into custody.

Comebacks are never easy especially at the age of 34 and after a hiatus of two years. Gautam Gambhir would have felt a bit jittery when he would have walked out to the middle after India won the toss and opted to bat against New Zealand at the Holkar Stadium in Indore.Gambhir looked positive right from the start when he cut one to the point boundary and then followed up with two successive sixes off Matt Henry. The left-handed batsman with a changed stance left well any deliveries outside the off and looked set for a big score. But unfortunately fell on 29, trapped lbw by Trent Boult. The Delhi batsman, who was drafted to the Test squad after injuries to KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan last played in a Test match for India in 2014 against England at the Oval. Gambhir’s solid performances in the domestic circuit, which included the recently concluded Duleep Trophy brought him back into contention. The Kolkata Knight Riders’ captain still has one more chance in the second essay and if he manages to get a decent score, he could be very well in the fray to be picked for India’s upcoming Test matches. While, at lunch on day one of the third and final Test, India were 75/2 with Cheteshwar Pujara (29*) and Virat Kohli (7*) at the crease.
